Star Life Ok’s experiment to re-run classic Star Plus shows is working a treat on the channel. While ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ re-runs have come down in viewership in the UK, ‘Geet’ has overtaken most shows on the channel and once again topped the ratings.
According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, ‘Geet’ got the best ever ratings with 56,500 viewers at 14:30 – peaking at 79,400 viewers. The show has beaten all re-run shows on the channel in terms of ratings. In second place, ‘Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai’ with 18,500 viewers and ‘Savdhaan India’ in third with 17,300 viewers. ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ managed to get just 13,600 viewers at 14:00 and around 200 viewers for the repeat at 18:00.
On Star Plus, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ bounced back to the top of the ratings in the UK with 198,200 viewers, followed by ‘SaraswatiChandra’ with 174,500 viewers and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ in third with 161,500 viewers.
The others in the pecking order were ‘Veera’ (159,800), ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ (159,700), ‘Meri Bhabhi’ (126,100), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (94,100), ‘Saathiya’ (87,800) and ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga’ (71,100).
On Rishtey, ‘Bigg Boss’ (re-run) was ratings winner with 54,600 viewers, followed by ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ with 52,300 viewers and ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ with 36,000 viewers. ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’, which is temporarily filling in the 20:30 slot pulled in 18,100 viewers.
On Sony SAB TV, ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ was on top with 59,200 viewers, followed by ‘Baal Veer’ with 56,500 viewers and ‘Chidiyaghar’ was third with 7,900 viewers.
