'Pavitra Rishta' lead Ankita Lokhande to romance Shah Rukh?

The entire Bollywood has been guessing who will be the lucky actress to act opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan's next movie 'Happy New Year'.

Now if reports are to be believed 'Pavitra Rishta' lead actress and Sushant Singh Rajput’s ladylove Ankita Lokhande might clinch the deal ahead of other A-list actresses in the industry.

Television actress Ankita aspires to make it big in the film industry like her beau Sushant Singh Rajput. She has been constantly seen with Sushant attending every award functions, parties and Bollywood events.

With so many appearances and brushing shoulder with the who’s who of the industry she had to strike a deal.

Finally the king of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan spotted Ankita in Macau during the IIFA awards and recommended her to filmmaker Farah Khan, reports MidDay.

The filmmaker has shortlisted five girls for the role and will soon finalise her film's leading lady. Knowing Farah Khan's adulation for Shah Rukh, Ankita might have the upper hand than the rest.

Several names, including that of Katrina Kaif, have been doing the rounds. But according to SRK, Ankita fitted the bill for the Maharashtrian protagonist perfectly.

Ankita became a household name as the lead actress of 'Pavitra Rishta'.

When Sushant left the show to pursue his Bollywood dreams Anikta followed suit.

The actress previously left the show to try her luck but after that didn’t work out, she came back. Bizarrely, she came back but demanded to play a double role and a separate track in the show because of which the soap went through a time leap.

Ankita is said to have not yet conveyed her decision of quitting yet again to the makers.

However, the writer of the show, Rajesh Joshi feels that since the actress has signed a contract with the makers, she would ideally be staying put.

If 'Happy New Year' happens Ankita Lonkande will be the happiest girl and we doubt if she will think twice about leaving 'Pavitra Rishta'.
